Another was asked if she believed that God intervened in the election. "Absolutely," she said.

This should be a priority for Congress, with vigilant participation by independent news organizations. The complete process - from registration through vote tallying, including all equipment and procedures - must be thoroughly and publicly assessed.

News Flash! Nearly half the country thinks that the 2004 election result did not accurately represent the will of the people! Half the Democrats think that the machines were rigged by a partisan election industry, while half the Republicans think that God did the rigging. Either way, it was not a good day for democracy. Either way it should be thoroughly investigated.
If it turns out that the result was rigged, that would be the largest scandal in American history. If it turns out that there was evidence of supernatural intervention, that would be the largest ever boon for theology. If, as is most likely, the process is deeply flawed and ripe with opportunities for systematic bias, uncovering and correcting these will strengthen our democracy. Seems like it would be a win-win.
Sadly the Diebold Democrats and the Revival Republicans are on opposite sides in the battle for democracy. Managing to overturn the will of the godless liberals, even if it took large-scale "intervention," is not a miracle to be questioned.
